The gallery was named after its founder Prof. Moinuddin Ahamad, who dedicated his life for the promotion of art of painting. The gallery is the true realisation of his vision and mission to inculcate the art of painting among the students of AMU. The glory and the beauty of the original structure of the gallery has been largely retained during the renovation, nevertheless, the modern technological and artistic innovations were made to match the parameters of art galleries of present time. . . The gallery has been inaugurated with an exhibition of about 100 paintings, it is now offered to organise solo and group shows, artist workshops, residencies, lectures and demonstrations of invited artists and interactive programmes in collaborations for the mutual benefit of our institution, the art students, upcoming artists and the visiting artists. The gallery has a huge capacity with three big functional gallery spaces A, B & C.
